Sisters

My sisters were in town just long enough to have dinner before they headed down to say what will probably be their last goodbyes to their grandmother. That is sad. Seeing them made me very happy.

My niece came along and I haven't seen her in 6 whole months! She's so funny playing peek-a-boo, believing that if anything is over head, including a piece of paper, she is invisible. Never mind that she can see us, and us her. She's clearly invisible. I mean, she DOES have the piece of paper over her head.

Her mother is a really really good mother. She glows. She loves what she is doing. It's like those people who have their dream job of working for Oprah. My sister has her dream job.

They both do, really. JW is great at marketing. Not that there was ever any doubt.

5 year old JW: I can fly (she was perched on the arm of the couch, arms outspread)
Family: Really?
JW: Yes. But you have to close your eyes.
Family: OK. (we closed our eyes - heard a large thump as she jumped off the couch and ran across the room)
JW: Ok. You can open them, now.

Or the time she convinced us to eat the popsicles she'd made ... out of dirty dishwater. Or the "lemonade" she asked MM to taste - luckily it was still warm and he figured it out before indulging her.

But truly, the girl could convince us of just about anything. She sells it. Especially if she believes it.

(sigh) I miss them.
